Bucky Kirk graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Wood Science and Forest Products. While there, his schedule was filled with many forestry classes and his summers were filled with jobs cruising timber and working in a local sawmill. He has spent the last 20 years in the forest products industry, moving around the Southeast and growing in business knowledge and experience. The last 13 years have been spent living in Oconee and Clarke counties.
Growing up in rural southwest Virginia, in the western foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, he was surrounded by picturesque mountains, rolling hills, valleys, and farmland. Through his childhood and young adult years of hunting and fishing, he discovered a deeper appreciation and love of the outdoors. While working summers on local farms, an understanding of the intricacies of land management began to take root. It was there that he began to fall in love with the idea and practice of land stewardship. Over the years, this grew into a desire to one day pursue a second career in land sales.
Bucky has been married to his wife, Stacey, for 25 years and they have five full-of-life children. He cherishes time spent with them as well as time spent with his church friends and family. He lives by the mantra of basing relationships on honesty and trust.
Would you like to leave a message for Bucky? He'd be happy to hear from you.
