Steve Ebbert has been in the timberland, farmland, and recreational land business for over 30 years. He started the land company in 1991. Steve turned a forestry degree from the University of Georgia into a career of managing and selling timberland and rural properties to help his clients obtain the greatest return on their investment. Steve spends his free time bow hunting throughout the US and in many countries on five continents. Whether customers are buying or selling, Steve possesses the expertise necessary to provide a profitable land plan for anything from properly handling a tax-deferred exchange, to setting up the needed financing for a real estate investment either short or long term.
Mark Costello is a 1994 graduate of the University of Georgia. Mark has extensive sales experience and has owned his own business for the past 15 years. Jesse Johnson is a Registered Forester/Sales Agent with Southeastern United States Land Exchange specializing in timberland/recreational properties. Jesse graduated from the University of Georgia’s Warnell School of Forest Resources in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in Forest Management.
Ashlie David has been in the real estate industry for 16 years, with 5 years on the lending side and the last 11 on the sales support and managing side. As the Business / Office manager of Southern Land Exchange and as a licensed Realtor, Ashlie’s goal is to support our Sales Associates in marketing themselves and their listings in the most effective ways possible. Garrett graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Agribusiness in 2008. He fell into a role as a Procurement Forester in the Middle Georgia region and quickly realized forestry was his calling. In 2014 he returned to Athens and obtained a Masters degree from UGA’s Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources. With experience in buying and selling timber and relationships across the state within the industry, Garrett serves as a great asset to the clients of Southern Timberland Consultants.

From 2001-2016 Kenneth served as Vice President, Land Sales & Exchanges for Temple-Inland and its real estate spinoff, Forestar Group. He was responsible for managing the analysis, and segmentation of over 350,000 acres of undeveloped land assets into long-term hold, strategic, and retail land sale opportunities. During his tenure, Kenneth oversaw the divestiture of these undeveloped land assets in Georgia and Alabama through a high- volume retail land sale program as well as Institutional/Investor sales. Prior to 2001 Kenneth held various wood procurement and land management positions with Temple-Inland and its successor companies, as well as Georgia Pacific.
Kenneth graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Forest Resources in 1983. He also is a former Board Member of the Georgia Forestry Association. He resides in Rome, Ga. with his wife Leigh Ann. Their 5 children have graduated or are currently enrolled in various Universities.
When Stuart joined the Southern Land Exchange team in 2004, he doubted that that his Public Relations degree from UGA would come in handy. He soon found out, however, that a fresh approach to marketing was just what the land real estate business needed.
Thomas was raised on his family’s beef cattle farm in Morgan County and earned a degree in Agriculture from the University of Georgia. He brings 37 years of experience in assisting landowners with farm programs at USDA’s Farm Service Agency.
Travis graduated from the University of North Georgia with a degree in Business. He achieved the University’s top leadership award while acting as President of SIFE (Students for Free Enterprise). He went on to achieve managerial and leadership roles across a variety of industries. These roles consisted of Director of Sales for a prominent hospitality group in Athens, as well as a licensed Property Manager responsible for 11 large communities throughout Atlanta.
Growing up in a rural area, and having the privilege of hunting and fishing on the family farm, Travis has always felt a calling to the great outdoors. Surrounded by the land business his entire life, it only made sense to one day learn the family trade. Travis is excited to bring his diversified experience to the table as a land real estate agent for Southern Land Exchange.

Caleb has worked extensively in the land sales and is experienced in timberland, recreational land, hunting land, commercial land, farmland and family estates. He is a 2009 graduate of the University of Georgia Landscape Architecture program. As such, he uses his degree to analyze, plan, design, and nurture the built and natural environments of the properties he works with. His passion for the outdoors extends much further than his profession. He considers his achievement of Eagle Scout one of his greatest accomplishments, and he never misses the chance to take his bride and three children camping. When asked, he will readily tell you there is nothing more exhilarating or restorative than simply getting outside. He is passionate about serving others and would love to help you achieve your goals through the buying and selling of your property.
